Lets share your cats photos :cool:

I play with them near their bed for a while and have my camera next to me. I used the toy and lead them to the bed and they get so tired they just fall asleep infront of my camera :D

are you a proffesional photographer , what photo software can you recomend for pc sub £100 was thinking photoshop elements v4 from an inferior store ,as i work there lol , i have a pentax optio 5 mega pixel but when i press the button to take a photo it takes ages to take the shot like a 1-2 second delay should i use the macro thing for close up sorry to be such a noob !!!

@markt63:

Shucks, the pictures I took are ok but not that good (no, I'm no pro)! :D :p

As for the software, I don't really know what to suggest. My pics only had a smart sharpen and light use of shadows in Photoshop. I guess Elements might be quite good, or what about the Gimp? The best thing is it's free. I've never tried the Gimp, so I'm not sure of the results that are achievable, but I suspect you can do pretty much the same with it (providing you find the right version and plug ins) as photoshop.

I suggest you start a thread as there are a good few people who use the various programs that are about, free or otherwise. That way you might get a useful answer! :)

As for your camera, macro is for really close up shots (best to experiment), less than a foot away probably (though this largely depends on the camera). The delay you get is a pain, and one of the reasons compact cameras fail in the light of digital SLR's. There's not a lot you can do about it tbh, apart from get another camera (some compacts are better than others)! I had to live with a compact with a laggy shutter for about 10 months, and only now I have a DSLR I realise how slow it was!

@unknowndomain:

:eek: :(

That's terrible. Poor thing!

I had a cat called Ollie about 10 years ago. He once got stung on the nose by an angry bee, but was fine. I guess some cats suffer from anaphylactic shock, just like humans can.

I'll keep a close eye on my kittens from now on when they're frolicking in the garden, as we get loads of bees!

My brother took these pics of fluffy with his IXOS 3.2MP compact. She's 18 or so now, we found her/she found us 14 years ago starving so we gave her a home :)

I know its not a great picture (of both) but i only had my K750i to hand, and wanted to get my cats on here :)

1st one is Smokey, my cat. The second is Tispy, my mums cat and also the mother of may cat :)
