This may sound a bit of a daft question to some of you but I'm currently looking at importing a bit of audio equipment from the USA. They provide a 5 year warranty on the item but i'm a little unsure on the ins and outs of doing an international RMA if it were to be required especially after brexit and what not.

Would I need to fill out customs forms for exporting the item again or would it be a case of pay postage and slap the address on?

When the item is returned to me, Would I then have to pay further fees to get it back into the country or the sending company have to list it as a returned item so I don't incur further charges?

As it's from the USA brexit wouldn't make much difference (most of the brexit issues are with the EU now being dealt with largely the same as the USA was).

IIRC you'd need to fill in a customs form with the reason for it being exported as for repair (so they wouldn't get a bill to pay), and they'd have to send it back to you with customs forms showing that it was a return from repair and UK tax had already been paid.

Depending on the weight and value even just the cost of shipping could be a lot, let alone any hassle from customs.
The company may have a UK or EU service agent which is worth checking as if they export a lot to here/the EU they might have authorised repair facilities here, or at least a contract with a company that will accept returns and forward them on with the correct paperwork.

Yeah true, Apologies, Getting late and not thinking at the clearest there!

Ok, That makes sense. I would hope that they have forms in place for doing that but I will check with them prior to making a purchase if I decide to go ahead.

The weight is around 2kg I believe. On their website it is showing as $44 for tracked and insured shipping.
They have a UK and EU reseller but none of which have had stock for many months and do not know when they will be getting stock. This is due to manufacturing issues due to covid and the fires in California.
The UK reseller have stated that they will not carry out repairs if it was purchased from the USA. Oddly, The UK reseller only offers a 2 or 3 year warranty on the same items. If buying from the USA they give you a 5 year warranty.

I prefer the Asgard 3 to any of the Magnis, it has a richer, smoother sound yet still has plenty of detail

I originally did decide on that but for all I'll be powering and likely to in the future, I've currently got it between the Schiit IEMagni (For the built in protection) and the JDS Atom+.
