Any decent Flight Sims out atm?

Ok, so I have SimX and IL2 (Il2 is great fun) However are there any decent Combat sims around that I should invest in what with my new Saitek X52 arriving in just a few hours =D

how about lock on or black shark. hawx is combat, probly quite fun but not a sim. or rise a flight, thats a new ww1 combat sim.

I am very tempted to go for Rise of Flight. Does it support TrackIR? Re. the Saitek X52, would love one of these but sadly as a backward left hander it would mean a complete change in how I use a joystick. Shame they don't do a cack handed version, I would even pay a little extra for it.

Yes it does, just remember all you get for the initial purchase is four aircraft, you'll need to buy more if you want them.

Getting frustrated now. I have bought, downloaded and installed RoF and then registered on the website but have not got the confirmation email that will then let me finish the registration process. Trying to log into the site just gives a bad user/pass error as would be expected.

Was anyone else's email particularly slow coming through?

Ah, seems LOMAC and Lock On:Air Combat Simulation are the same game, just it has a slightly different UK name.

Ok let me ask another question - is there a good jet combat sim that's recent enough to have decent visuals and will work on Vista? Thanks.

You could try here The Fighter Collection They own the developers of the Lock On and Black Shark. Shop page says they take Paypal Debit and credit cards.

Thanks. Seems it's available on amazon.co.uk though for next to nothing. I was searching on amazon for Lock On:Modern Air Combat, but it seems like the game was released under the name Lock On:Air Combat Simulation here.

Yes it will with an update too the starforce drivers go here too the forums and all your questions will be answered "lockonfiles.com"

Lock on Modern Air combat ( Lock On:Air Combat Simulation) will work fine, the copy protection was removesd with the 1.02 patch
The addon "Lock On Flaming Cliffs" will work too, with an update to the starforce drivers in vista 64bit.

Edit :- for those prices just buy it. Download hyperlobby to play online. Note that most servers will be using the addon Flaming Cliffs these days.

Black Shark definitely, it's really hard to go back to the flight models in Lock on, bar the Su-25T. Oh and no 6DoF too. Lock On isn't as pretty either.....

However the new Lock On "Product" they are working on at the moment has me intrigued, It'll be interesting to see what they have up their sleeve.

This is one of the reasons DCS:- Warthog (A-10C) has been pushed back to next year.
