Any decent free server backup solutions?

Currently using Acronis Backup and Recovery 11.5 to back up a Server 2008R2 box which runs AD, Exchange 2010, Sage etc.
Are there any free alternatives available? I'm not having a lot of luck getting Acronis to consistenly back up the server without errors.

I guess I'm asking too much for a free solution for things like Exchange aware backups/individual mailbox restore etc?

If the server has anything worth backing up the it's worth laying a few £'s a month to make sure it's protected.

This makes sense but the client already paid for Acronis, which isn't up to scratch (our fault, our recommendation etc).

What's the best paid for backup solution?
