Any decent real Drifting games?

Got quite into drifting on the new nfs game (most wanted) just burning around in free roam (as the story is awful: there is no story)

Was then wondering if there are any decent pc drifting games.

Searching google just results in crappy browser-based games. Whereas I am looking for a full game with as good graphics as possible and good mechanics/gameplay.

I have games like ridge racer unbounded, all nfs games, and then more realistic racing games however none of them really focus on drifting. So would appreciate any suggestions :)

Thanks.

only other game i could think of is GRID but never played myself though :)

thanks. weirdly I have never played that even tho its been out 4 years haha. for some reason I had it in my mind it was console only. will get it and try it out after christmas.

DiRT Showdown or even DiRT3 if you want more variety.

didn't really think much of dirt 3 which is why I havn't tried showdown yet. Is showdown different/anygood? Don't get me wrong it had great gameplay but I have never really got back into rally games since I was a little kid. Only lasted a couple hours on it and havn't restarted it. Tho maybe I will try :D Does it have any drifting events or sole rally stages?

waiiiiiiittttttttttttttt!!! grid 2 is out in 2013 :D plus you cant play grid online anymore since they took the servers down last year i think

It's a bit weird to explain properly but DiRT3 had the drifting in it and it wasn't much fun for some reason, just didn't 'feel' right at all, maybe the car physics were out or some control problem, whatever it was the drifting and Gymkhana stuff in D3 were very..meh.

So, DiRT Showdown seemed to take the drifting from DiRT3 and polish it right up to where it made it fun to drift and made the Gymkhana's and challenges a lot more fun to play.

Hope that makes sense, only way I can describe the differences between them, for me D3 drifting felt like it was tacked on (Unfinished) and DiRT Showdown took it, fixed it up and made it shine.

Used to drift the RS500 Caterhams in RFactor lovely. Some of the other mods can be drifted as well, you just have to set them up for drifting.

Sorry, missed this before, Showdown concentrates far more on drifting and has demolition derby and a pure arcade type racer tacked on, there's no Rally or any semi-serious racing, it mainly focuses on the drifting.

dirt 3 if you put in the effort is very very good especially with a good steering wheel. its now one of my fav games since getting a wheel the difference is amazing once you tweaked your wheel compared to playing on joypad

grid has some great drifting aswell

I would say the best drifting experience is in Live for Speed, it is a bit dated now but still the drifting feels great with MP too with people do twin drifting etc.

IMO it's way more fun to buy a sim game and drift in that with a wheel, I remember doing that in the demo version of Live For Speed, happy times. :D

EDIT: ^^See, someone agrees!

Forza is a great one, but is only the the Xbox 360, there isn't a game out which has more realistic drifting mechanics, you actually have to slam down gears and drop into neutral at high speeds to even think about going properly sideways. Not any of this rubbish press handbrake and turn crap the other games feed you, complete nonsense.
