Noticed Steam is having a Capcom sale at the moment, so some of the Devil May Cry games are going cheap.

I havn't played any of these since the original on the PS2.
I was thinking of picking up "DmC: Devil May Cry" since it's only £6. But was wondering if there was another title in the series that was worth picking up instead?

DmC reboot is good, especially for 6 quid. Somewhat divisive among the fanbase due to some design choices but well worth playing.

5 is great if you take your time with the combat, there's a lot of depth to it and a lot of replayability.
It also won't feel dated, unlike some other titles in the series. It's the best graphically and mechanically, the rest is a matter of opinion.

I'd pick up DmC reboot and 5.

People like to hate on this DmC but don't listen to anyone. The whole series is about cool combat systems, not the story. And the DmC nailed the styling

Not much, it's enough to know the premise and who Dante and Vergil are, it's a soft reboot and a prequel.

The games are mostly about killing demons with style so you don't really need to delve into the story aspect that much, you probably know enough already:p

Gotta say, DmC reboot had some damn solid level design, IIRC. It's been a while since I played it.

Yep, the DmC reboot is the last game I completed in the series. Only got halfway through DMC5.

And I have mixed feelings about DMC4, especially about Dante's ark. I was okay with the backtracking. But having all the tools and mechanics Dante has and making every second mission with him on a countdown is disgusting.
