I'm currently using 2 X 4GB Dual Channel DDR3 Memory Kit (CMZ8GX3M2A1600C9) Corsair Vengeance http://www.corsair.com/en-gb/vengeance-8gb-dual-channel-ddr3-memory-kit-cmz8gx3m2a1600c9

I've recently purchased 2 X 8GB Patriot Viper 16GB 1600mhz DDR3 Dual Channel RAM http://www.patriotmemory.com/product/detail.jsp?prodline=5&catid=34&prodgroupid=239&id=1283&type=1as I need more RAM due to having various instances of the same application open at times which gets quite memory hungry

Using the Viper RAM would I likely notice any performance loss in games etc

Or should it be exactly the same

The speed and timings are almost identical.

You wont see any loss or gain except for the ones where a program is limited by your existing 8GB.

Got my RAM today, could someone please confirm it's running at proper speeds?

Thats right, 1198.8 x 2 = 2400

One thing is the timings are quite the same as what the XMP says.

If you can get them to run at 1T instead of 2T then that would be nice.

Manually change that value and try it.

In order for me to change that setting I have to change Dram timing mode from auto to link or unlink. Which one should I have it on

I've just changed it from 2 to 1 - What do I need to look at in cpu z to make sure it's done

CPU-z shows 1T

From reading online it seems that link is for when you don't want to mess with memory timings and unlink is when you want to change

link mode runs the same timings on all installed memory. Unlinked allows you to set individual timings on each stick. If all your RAM is the same leave it linked.

Your RAM is running fine although the timings are quiet loose. Personally I would lower the speed and tighten the timings but it makes little noticeable difference.
