I've played pretty much every main release of Doom going.
I actually started on Doom II on a 386 PC that wasn't powerful enough to run it. So believe it or not I used to play in low resolution mode on almost the smallest screen size available. It's funny to think the original Doom games had a low resolution mode - think you had to press F5 or something.
Anyway I beat D2 playing like this and learned the maps so well I could get around them going backwards. I also learned to play by sound as visually it was tough to see anything.
Then we got an upgrade to a 486 PC. Wow. Playing D2 full screen in high res mode - I was blown away. It was totally awesome.
I played D1 after D2 and loved that one as well. Both the originals had great flow and clever map designs.
Another wow moment for me was getting Doom on the playstation. This had a better feeling of atmosphere and a great sound library, particularly the chain gun. The sound of the chain gun was so lame on PC, but on Playstation it was, well, meaty!!
I also played through all of the Final Doom content also on Playstation. Some of those levels were mental.
Then Doom 3 came along and I was blown away all over again. I had a PC that could run it and the styling and atmosphere was brilliant. Even now D3 is one of my favourite iterations of Doom and one of my favourite games in general. I loved how gritty it was and the grim atmosphere. It's dated now but I'm playing it through on a VR port on my Quest 2 which is a great experience.
I also loved the mission pack where you got to see a lot more of hell.
From here I discovered Classic Doom which was a Port of the shareware license for E1 of Doom into the Doom 3 engine. Nostalgia overload and some really great work by the developers.
Then Doom 2016 - OMFG. What a game. Brilliant mix of atmosphere, pace and combat. Also really fun secret hunting. Finding the classic map levers was really tricky in places. I also enjoyed the rune challenges. I triple dipped this game across PC and xbox/ps4. It's looking a bit dated now but still a great game.
Then Doom Eternal. Meh. Great looking game but felt a bit too soft and cartoony. Wasn't a massive fan of the platforming but I guess it added something new. Overall I enjoyed it and there's no doubting the increased tactical needs in combat, particularly on harder level settings. I actually quite like how you have to think on your feet and manage resources, use correct weapons and mods etc.
Finally, I came to Doom64 (I missed it first time around). Really enjoyed it and it seems to share the sound library of the playstation Doom. Some great level design and a great effort given the technical limitations at the time.
Out of them all I prefer Doom 2016, followed by D3 and then Doom 2 - so much nostalgia!
