I'm on O2 just now and have read that tesco mobile uses the O2 network so has the exact same coverage/speeds

O2 sim only contract is 16 quid for 600 (+500 o2 to 02) minutes and 750 mb data, unlimited texts

tesco is 15 quid for 2000 minutes and 3GB data, 5000 texts

fair enough the texts are unlimited but i'm not gonna be sending over 5000 texts a month!!
is there a catch ?

I've just joined (mid November) and not had any issues, I am the rolling Sim Only contract for £10 a month.

Signed up thru Tesco for an O2 contract, was an offer I couldn't say no to.
If however they try and persuade you to go with them because of "FREE Insurance" it's utter trash, the missus lost her phone (SGS3) and claimed.

Refurbed phone (wrong colour) was received.
Excess was £90!!!
When we claimed they then said you could only claim once every 12 months.

Had these been pointed out when we took the contracts would've probably just enabled the bank account phoe insurance lol

can't see any reason to go with Tesco over Giffgaff.

ahh, I forgot to add is there any others that are better

I had actually ordered the new sim from 02 but have managed to cancel it now - can't believe the difference - you're getting about 4 times as much calls/ data through tesco

will check out giffgaff

I've got virgin broadband so have got unlimited everything SIM only for £15 again uses the o2 network. Not sure on the price for non customers.

Used to use giffgaff and I much prefer "proper" providers personally.

Been with Tesco mobile for just over a year now, cant say I've had any problems at all, im on 500mins, 5000text and 1gb data for £10 a month which suits me just fine, contemplating going to three on the one plan at £15 a month

Its o2 so has poor data rates compared to the other big suppliers, this depends on area, but they do have the worst data coverage.
If light user you cant really beat ovivo
And heavy user one plan on three.

Virgin have some good deals as well.

Virgin uses orange so its EE not o2.

Apologies, you're both right and I knew that as well for some reason :p

Giffgaff is hateful and for people who can't be trusted with a contract. Customer service is none existent, literally. It's just basically members of a forum who don't know their **** from their elbow and if you have an actual problem they just paste answers from a script they've been given.

It used to be cheap enough to ignore these problems but for a few quid extra it's definitely worth going with a proper provider.
