I was going to start this thread and ask for advice on a few subjects regarding various techniques using a DSLR.... more to do with lighting and location than anything else.

Do any of you DSLR videographers have any projects that you have worked on and be willing to share here. I really want to utilise this thread to pick the brains of people who have more experience shooting with a DSLR.

I have a video shoot coming fairly soon and Im pretty excited about it. I have scouted the various locations and have taken some test footage, and all looks well... I just have to get my head around how I can improve lighting on location and how I can diffuse the sun... possibly the best way to do that is the right time of day I know!!..but are there any other effective techniques I can use??

Anyhooo!!!

Please post and share your creations.. it really does not matter about the content.... every scenario has a story behind how the shot was set up...

Cheers...

WRT to the microphone have you any suggests and where do you plug it in (just asking as I don't have my DSLR with me at to look at)

there is an external microphone input on dslrs with video, usually near the usb/hdmi ports. the Sennheiser MKE-400 is a good one i believe, its got a shoe mount so just fixes to the top.

I actually liked several shots you have used over the various months. Some shots capture the monotony of every day, with flashes of creativity.

My aim is to concentrate on composition & lighting, to be able to convey the story or theme of the video adjusting these two parameters.

Surely there are other videographers here, c'mon get your vids up!!!
