Any experience with HDMI cable length?

Hi there

After moving to a new home, my PC can no longer sit next to and connect to my TV with cable for glorious movie streaming.
I've been experimenting with DLNA and wifi connecting to my PC with the TV and PS4 yet this can sometimes be spotty and navigating the menus is cumbersome.

So, I might just go for a big HDMI cable.

I read that 25ft might be the upper limit for stability and no loss, but is this true?
Because the signal is coming out of a GFX card, it has more oomph and push behind it so cable length might be allowed to be bigger?
Anyway.... it looks to be about 10 metres..... what do you think? Doable?

Also, wondering if I should get a brand new long cable or (since I have a smaller cable already) buy another smaller cable and use a little box connector between the two?

- Cheers

I run an HDMI cable from my amp to my projector. It's been set up for a few years now, so can't remember the exact length, but it must be around 15m or more, since it comes out my amp, climbs to the roof, then down a 5m long wall, then another 2.5m along the back wall, then another 1-1.5m to the projector, where an unbelievable amount of slack is wrapped up, then into the projector itself.

I haven't had a single issue with the cable. I did buy a wyrestorm HDMI over ethernet thing for an extortionate amount, on the assumption that the cable would be too long to work properly. But the cable works fine. So I use the HDMI to Cat6 to feed a split signal from my Now TV box to my bedroom instead.

I've been using a 20 metre cheap HDMI cable (form here) for a few years, AMP to Projector and not had any issues at all...
PC to AMP, AMP to Projector
Sky G to AMP, AMP to Projector
XBOX to AMP, AMP to Projector

All work fine...

Thanks for all the comments guys.

Looks like I might have a stab at getting a 10m HDMI cable as it seems to not be causing much trouble for you.
Also gonna do a bit of research on this "HDMI over Ethernet" thing.

:)

So, I bought a 12m HDMI cable (just to be safe for length) and there seems to be no issues at all.
Yay !!

Still getting used to the new and funky 3 monitor setup and the position things are in.
But yeah, I can add my voice to those above that say long HDMI cables are fine :)
