Any experience with Hong Kong Post?

I bought some kind of IDE Sata2 External gizmo, the supplied PSU literally melted when i plugged it in. Best £4.99 i ever spent.

That aside, the delivery was quite good, about 1 week.

How did you guys track it? The company said to track it on 183.com.cn, but when I track it on there, it comes back with something like "No suitable item found". However, if I try it on the actual hong kong post website, it says:

"The item (RBXXXXXXXXXHK) was posted on 21-Jan-2012 and is being processed for delivery to the addressee."

So obviously the other tracking site is working for it, but the one they said to use isn't. Also, I asked this above but I'm not sure if anybody saw it; how do you track it once it's reached UK customs? Do you track it on the Parcelforce/Royal Mail website? Or do you continue to track it with Hong Kong Post's website?

Not had any problems with Hong Post, (other than their tracking numbers seem to not work anywhere sometimes). The packages I've had have left Hong Kong within a couple of days but have taken up to 7-10 days to get through UK Customs at times :(

Once in the UK you can sometimes track using the Parcel Force / RM sites (although if I Google for Parcel Force and then search on the tracking number from the direct tracking result returned I sometimes get better results than going to their main site and then navigating to the tracking page and searching there (for some reason). If there is a Customs charge you'll normally be able to see a GB tracking number there to (replaces the HK one and is returned if the HK one is searched for).

Just wondering if anybody's had any experience with 'Hong Kong Post'? Apparently they're slow at getting the parcel out of the country, but as soon as it reaches the United Kingdom customs, it speeds up. I'd like to get the item by the end of the month, but from what I've read on the Internet and with the Chinese New Year on the 23rd, I can't really see it happening. Furthermore, despite the item being given to them on the 18th (I think), the tracking code only began to work today but funnily enough it says they've only just received it today... perhaps this means they've only just scanned it in to their system? I contacted the company, and they said it should be with me within 7 - 10 days... sound realistic?

Bear in mind Hong Kong shuts down for 3-4 days at least over CNY...and mainland china business and factories can be closed for weeks. And HKP are pretty awful.

bought loads of stuff from HK over the years, hell! my current i7 6700k was from Hong Kong - £270 free delivery and no nasty customs charge, it took approx 8-9 days to arrive with the economy airmail option not bad considering UK post for other parts took 7 days.

the average waiting time can be between 1 week to 3 weeks though and if it's a massive item be prepared to pay customs/duty on it.

not really had any bother ordering from HK over the years :)

Times aren't much of a guide unless the service used is mentioned. I stumbled across this thread looking for help working out how long it should take an EMS(Express Mail Service) package from Hong Kong to arrive in the UK.

Speedpost-EMS will leave the Hong Kong the day after it has been dispatched (sometimes that day!) and arrive in the UK less than 18 hours later.

The only historical tracking results I could find suggested 2-3 days for EMS Hong Kong to UK. My parcel left Hong Kong last Sunday but I've had no tracking details since which is a bit concerning since it is an EMS package(are there different EMS speeds?).

I've found Royal Mail hit and miss for tracking packages from China, sometimes you'll get full tracking, sometimes partial tracking - for the same service. So maybe my EMS package is already in the UK but tracking is botched or maybe it simply hasn't arrived ...
