This seems to be quite a popular combo so I'm seeing if anyone has opinions over particular RAM they've used and tweaked for this setup. I've been doing some research but I'm far from an expert. So far I've been looking at 3200mhz CAS14, 3600mhz CAS16 and the Patriot Steel RAM which seems to go up to 4400mhz.

Ideally, I'm looking for 2x8gb at around £100 that will perform really well in gaming. I don't mind tweaking the timings using the DRAM calculator either.

I got the 8 pack 3200/14 currently running at 3800/16 in my tomahawk but the price has gone up on that lately so the viper 4400 is probably the best value at the minute if your looking at fast b-die. Just manually tweak it to 3600/14 or higher if your CPU dont mind 1900fclk though at 3800 it might struggle to do CL14.

Have a 3600X, B450 tomahawk max and the Teamgroup 8 pack 3600mhz 2X8gb kit.

System would hang at post with red debug LED if I tried to go above 2933mhz without touching voltages. Had to run 1.0v for the two ram voltages and 1.1v for the SOC for it to post, but with those set it runs solid at 3600mhz now.

Strange that it gave you issues, I do have SoC set at 1.1 but VDDP @0.900 and [email protected]
Did you update from original bios?

Getting the Patriot 4400 kit in order to drop the speed and tighten the timings sounds like a plan. Just need to check that it will fit under my dark rock pro 3!

Likely you can get B-dies for cheapest from 3200MHz CL14 kits.

Have a look at Crucial Ballistix Sport. Either 3000Mhz Cl15 or 3200Mhz Cl16.

Both are Micron Rev.E and easily run at 3600Mhz Cl16 @1.35v or 3600Mhz Cl14 @1.45v

Also much cheaper than B-die :D
