Any fix for Mavericks preview scrolling?

Hi all

There's a relatively well documented bug where Mavericks freezes touchpad scrolling in Preview at random (can still scroll using up/down), and it's driving me mad as I'm revising for exams....

has anyone found a sure fire fix that isn't turning on scroll bars for all apps? :/

Ah, yes, you mention the fix for it - doesn't bother me having the scroll bars on.
