Any Fixing a Motherboard?

A few days ago I posted about a 'no signal' problem that followed windows freezing during web browsing. The computer would no longer load the bios. I was trying to narrow down which component was to blame. Having ran further tests, swapping in and out working equipment i am now sure that it is the motherboard that has been damaged.

I am unsure what type of damage it sustained or indeed what is likely to have happened. Is it simply out of the question to diagnose and repair a motherboard? Are there any guides? Has anyone experienced a 'no signal' issue, sourced it to the motherboard and go things working again?

By the way the board is a Gigabyte GA K8N Pro Sli.

Thanks.

Motherboards can be repaired, but it's beyond the ability of most individuals. As soon as a soldering iron + motherboard come together problems arise, I personally wouldn't go there. However a good laptop / computer repair shop is likely to be able to fix it, and gigabyte themselves will also be capable of it.

Whether it's possible within economic sense is another matter I'm afraid.

Thats kinda where I was coming from tbh, and if mobo has gone, its prob cheaper to get new mobo/cpu/ram than try and source a replacement, unless you know of someone whos got one to sell for minimal amount, older tech can command quite a high price as its often highly sought on places such as the bay etc

Ok, I think the next step must be to try and flash the bios. What exactly is involved there and will it be possible given that I get 'no signal' and therefore no option to enter bios?
