Morning all,

Been googling and trawling freeware/open source sites now for a while, haven't noticed anything. There's a good chance someone knows of software that will do the job, so here I am!

Trying to reduce my input on user created media, I can remember Nero having a feature that would convert all the selected media to DVD quality to fit on 1 disk.

Stupidly long shot but, perfect solution: Free, 'a few clicks', MTS files -> Burn to DVD. If not, I can easily convert to .mpg.

DVD flick I have teken yto using recently, it encodes reasonably well, around as fast as nero vision will, and it'll happily couple with imgburn to burn the encoded product direct to dvd, but there appears to be certain types of avi file it has issues with, and the burned product will have audio sync problems.

I've tried investigating this through their forums, as it appears have many others, there forums are patrolled by 2 fanbois and as soon as someone asks a quest along the lines of broken audio encoding, they bite back with a post linking 5 or 6 other enquiries and ask why the user didn't search the forum.
When checkeing the replies they generally link, most involve them biting the person and not answering the question.

In 100 burns with nero I had 1 issue with audio sync.
In 10 burns with dvdflick i've had 1 issue. I'll know more in a month as I am trying to determine if it is a particular source codec with which the issue exists. In the meantime I am avoiding registering with the dvd flick forums and thus avoiding fustration at the hands of the pair of retarded fanbois.

Thanks for replies, will check them all out on Monday.

Found out that Live Movie Maker + DVD Maker(?) in W7 does this quite well. Shame they're all using XP!
