Any free software that burns photo slideshows please?

A friend at work is after some software to burn a CD/DVD slideshow of his holiday photos to watch on the TV through a DVD player.

Anyone know of any free or even fully working trials software?

I've seen Microsofts Photo Story on someones laptop . I think it's very good ,has some great effects. Dont know if it saves directly to disk or justs saves as a wmv file .I thinks thats free .
