I've been looking at the Swift but the price is really putting me off, I can afford it but the price tag is just a little steep for me.

So with that said does anyone have any info on up coming G-Sync monitors ?

Acer to Release 27" 1440p TN Film XB270HU With G-sync and 144Hz

Hot off the press we bring you some news about a new screen from Acer, their 27" XB270HU model. What makes this so interesting? It offers the same features and specs which have made the Asus ROG Swift PG278Q so massively popular in recent months. Finally a rival 2560 x 1440 resolution gaming screen, we expect this one to be popular if it can offer anything near the performance of the Asus. It even looks a bit like the Asus in design!

The XB270HU is 27" in size and will be only the second monitor on the market with a 2560 x 1440 resolution TN Film panel. From the spec it looks like it will be the same, or at least very similar, to the AU Optronics panel used in the Asus ROG Swift PG278Q display. This offers a 1ms G2G response time, 144Hz refresh rate and support for NVIDIA's G-sync technology. It also supports 3D Vision and NVIDIA's Ultra Low Motion Blur (ULMB) mode which is part of the G-sync feature. In other specs it also offers a 1000:1 contrast ratio, 350 cd/m2 brightness, 170/160 viewing angles, 8-bit colour depth (16.7m colours) and a W-LED backlight offering sRGB colour gamut.

which is scheduled for release in Q1 and has 2560 x 1440 res, 144Hz and G-sync. We are expecting a sample to review before then though so we will keep you posted on Twitter.

I payed around £450 for most my monitors I ever owned and none them a patch on this monitor for gaming apart from my old DiamondTron CRT's..

I guess it also comes down to how much you think something is worth, Personally to me it's not worth the price tag, If it was £50 less then yeah maybe I'd get it then.

Mmmm well the new acer that's Ment to be out first q does have 144hz compared to the 4k which many people are putting premiums on for this but I'm holding out for this one I nerd 1ms response time and 144hz but want the high res that I can run maxed so not 4k

Well I look at it if am going spend around £2000+ at building a highend gaming system with highend GPU's & CPU,SSD etc Then I want to be able to display the picture from it in the best possible way..

Which I think the only monitor that can do this at the moment is the ROG Swift so that made spending £620 worth it for me..

I've sat in front of one and the colour shift is too dramatic *to my eyes* from top to bottom IMO compared to even the 4K monitors currently out.

I wait for the day we get VA / IPS panels with G-Sync and 144 hz surely next year something will appear:)
You could be in for a very long wait...:p

My first VA or IPS monitor I bought was back in about 2005 (dell 24" 2405fpw) and my last one I bought was in about 2013 (dell 27" U2713H) and 9 years later and there still no 1200p or above VA or IPS monitors available above 60hz..
(Apart from overclocked ones)
