Any Games Like MAFIA 2 ?

+1, still one of my all time fav games
sleeping dogs is great
wonder if there will be a mafia 3 hopes so I enjoyed them both
Apparently Mafia 3 is in production at the moment just no one knows the release date yet.
cant waitCan't believe what the OP wrote Mafia 2 was one of the worst games ever, whereas Mafia 1 is regarded as one of the best PC masterpieces ever made from a story point of view.
The main gripe most people had was that there was absolutely nothing to do once you had finished the main storyline. The team created a huge open map and you could not even explore it, or do anything as there were very little points of interest. The game was heavily flawed and don't get me started about the DLC's.
For it's time Mafia 1 was superb. Superb visuals, a huge selection of cars which actually changed as there years went by and a killer story that had you hooked. The combat too was superb, however it won't hold up today as players are used to 'cover' combat games.

I thought the Prison section was very well presented but they missed a trick by focusing too much on fighting when it was crying out for some sort of stealth section (sneaking around to steal something from an inmate, avoiding guards or whatever).

I remember the first one, got to a mission with a bar shootout way in the middle of nowhere, and you have to chase a guy afterwards in a car on a long, straight road. His car was 4-5x faster than mine and dusted me in what was basically a drag race and it kept failing the mission. After about a week of trying it over and over on and off I snapped the disc.
Not fond memories at all.
Trick was to shoot out his tyres when you come across him after he takes off, hit those and bingo, you've got him
Which ironically is one of the things they took away from mafia 2, the drive bys.If you thought that bit was hard what about the race circuit???? that had me stumped for ages, probably months, I can even remember running around the house with joy the first time I managed to win it!

Oooh I remember that race circuit - had me raging for a while too! Great game
