Any good alternatives to this build platform?

Haven't built a new system since 2006, so I'm well out of the hardware loop. Been spending the last week speccing a new build for the end of the month. It will only be used for gaming and general surfing.
I had been looking at the Asus Sabertooth board and an AMD Piledriver:

Are there any alternatives for similar prices, whether it be Intel or another AMD based spec that I should consider for better performance? I'm looking at £550-£600 budget all-in for board/cpu/8GB RAM/256GB SSD/cooler. I have a good PSU and I'll be retaining my HD6850 from this current PC.
The build I have specced around the above board and cpu clocks in at just a hair under £600, so I'd like to keep the board and chip price under £250.

Thanks
Mark

Thanks Lee. Looks like a good mobo/cpu combo. Had a look at various reviews and articles, think I'll go with those. Going with a Samsung 830 SSD which saves me £30, and it should all come in slightly less than what my original AMD build would have.
