Just had a thought this morning that boxing should work really well in current gen VR - together with table tennis, handgun shooting, driving with a steering wheel and flying with a joystick... Is there an "Eleven:table tennis" like boxing game/sim? I do stress the sim part requirement, shallow arcades don't hold my attention for longer than 5 minutes- if that... :o

PS Fencing would be perfect in VR too (the sport kind, not putting wood panels up:cool:), where are our VR Eleven:katana, Eleven:rapier and Eleven:lightsabre simulators?:) All we have is the silly FruitNinja it seems...

BOXVR is amazing for exercise. I play it when the weather is too bad to go out running, or if I just fancy staying in to do exercise. Make sure you have a washable cover for your headset facial interface though if you play VR boxing games, as they make you sweat a lot.

Cheers!
BoxVR seems to be about punching flying balloons, not actual fighting. I wanna float like a butterfly and sting like a bee :p

Thrill of the fight looks like exactly what I am after, but its physics/hit detection seem to be rather off - in this video at least

Will check it out this evening, and refund if it's no good.

Thrill of the Fight got a big update yesterday, so it's looking pretty good.

Also try Soundboxing - it's probably an easier way to box to fitness than full on boxing, and it's only a fiver!

Been really busy but look forward to a bit of VR and thrill of the fight tomorrow. I'm not really looking for fitness (I'm kinda ok as is, plus sweating in a headset does not really appeal, might as well go for a real jog instead). I wanted to learn about counterpunching, so a decent VR simulation should be fun to explore.

Yep, my first impressions are it's no Eleven: Table Tennis. The collision detection seems to be hit and miss, and in general the level of game development and polish is long way off. I think it is cheap enough and fun enough to keep, but it's no ultimate boxing experience, that is for sure. (and I really need to expand my playspace :( )

Bought my son a VR for his PS4 last week and he got a great boxing game on that called Knockout League, reminds me of Super Punchout from years back. Maybe it will come to PC?..Thrill of the Fight looks completely terrible.

Knockout League is available on pc, it originated on pc last year.

As I pointed out earlier, if thrill of the fight is a little too indi looking, then look at Virtual Boxing League. It's far better looking, and the quality of the fight is heads above any other VR boxing game. There's a few reviews and discussions that stand testimony to that.

Realistic boxing in VR?
Sounds sickening... There's bound to be an NPC better than you, so first time you get properly clocked by a heavy combination your vision would be whirling.. and in VR, that'd be motion sickness beyond belief!!

Ahh I didn't know Knockout League was on PC, well that's heads above any other boxing game on the VR market right now for me. Thrill of the fight is graphically terrible, watched some videos and it is complete junk, the gameplay is also poor and game poorly designed.
