Pretty much decided on a 2.4 MBP.

Apple are selling refurbs for £1299 inc does anyone know of any better deals?

Seems to be some deals on the bay but I'm unsure about warranty and just being generally ripped off.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'd be very wary of the bay, I spent ages looking for a bargain on there but several sales I was watching ended up being fraudulent despite the seller appearing to have lots of positive feedback.

Since Apple enforce a minimum advertised price on retailers you're not really going to find a bargain outside of a 2nd hand sale, or a refurb. The best my Apple account manager at work could do was a £50 discount :o

Hey mate,
Well we both have first hand experience with the bay, thats my fear.

My other issue is warranty are they transferable?

Dyou know any students at uni, higher education price would be about ~£1350 + £58 for 3 years applecare (as opposed to £199 normally).

otherwise refurb price is about as good as youll get

I would go with Apple. Things like Macs on eBay are a risky thing to buy as it may be a fake auction and for that amount of money it's really not worth the risk.

Apple refurbs are the cheapest you can get apart from eBay and student discounts, which by the way you can phone up and blag it very easily. Most of us on here have done it :p

Dont they want some sort of proof?

It would be good if I could get some sort of discount :)

Not usually, just ring and say your in uni. You will get about 14% discount with that. If you went into a store and asked for student discount then they would ask for some Id or something. But over the phone it's usually alright.
