Thought it about time to change my PC system and was wondering on a budget of £500 would this be a good setup?

Already have a E6600 conroe 2.40, gigabyte 965p-d3p, radeon x1950xt

So would this be a good change or not to much to notice?

I think you should clock that DualCore to 3.0GHz -3.6GHz and grab yourself a new GPU!

Thanks for the replies guys, system is used mostly for video converting and some light gaming. Tried to overclock before but system was never stable, I bought a corsair 650 ht psu sometime back. Maybe some different ram and a new gfx card, is the gtx a better option than the ati card I mentioned or is there a better ati for the price of the gtx

Do you know much about overclocking? . . . you should be able to overclock tha chip quite easy . . . the problem was most likey you didn't configure the settings (memory) properly! :D

Can you confirm exactly what motherboard you have please? . . is this a typo:
