Hi guys

Me and the missus have invested in the XBox controllers and I'm itching to play some decent games that work well with joypads, especially two player ones as we have two pads.

We've gone through the classics lately...Golden Axe, Streets of Rage, Double Dragon etc (them were the days!) and are now looking for something a little newer!

We've got Prince of Persia Sands of Time which is great, but single player only.

So...any suggestions for more single player and especially multiplayer joypad friendly games?

Thanks :)

this is probably the first game question that i wouldnt know a snwer to :S lol

have you tried something along the lines of a adventure game

ags

One of the lord of the rings games has co-op on the same computer so 2 players can play on 1 comp. Probably controller compatible too. Might give that one a go.

Not sure if serious sam 2 has controller options but is co-op tho duno if on one machine or not.

-> Multiplayer (splitscreen/shared screen)
Pro Evo :D
Lego Star Wars
Mugen Tournament 3 (google it, its freeware)

-> SinglePlayer (and lan)
Tomb Raider Legend
Test Drive Unlimited
Need for Speed
Trackmania Nations (freeware again)

Thanks for the replies guys!

I'll check out the racing games!

Tomb Raider Legend was supposed to be good wasn't it? A return to form as it were...might have a nosey at that as well!

We've completed Serious Sam 2 using keyboard+mouse, I should have said as well, we have a machine each so it doesn't need to be split screen, just co-op over a lan...which reminds me, must install Call of Duty 2 again!

Lego Star Wars sounds great multiplayer! Wonder if that's best on joypad or keyboard and mouse?

Thanks for the suggestions! Keep em coming ;) :D

Done! I've been needing an excuse to get Lego Star Wars!

I've also discovered that Trackmania Nations is nothing short of awesome when played with the analogue stick, it's so responsive it's not true...put keys to shame!

So...games on the list so far...

Lego Star Wars
Trackmania United (bit worried about starforce though)
Need For Speed...one of the 3,124 variations

Jade Empire sounds good if it's mainly a beat-em-up (had a quick look at the Wiki), can't seem to find a demo of it though :(

Maybe Tomb Raider Legends

I'd like to try Mugen Tournament 3, but the website looks a bit dodgy, don't know if I'm looking in the right place or not.

I started downloading the demo of Psychonauts as it did have cracking reviews but Avast caught a virus/malware in the file, and it was from download.com - quite surprised me that!

And of course there is the original which I was missing out - One Must Fall 2097...amazing beat em up.

*edit* What game is MAME? I assume it's an acronym for something but the something escapes me!

+1 for dreamfall though it is singleplayer game the story is amazing, my gf watched me thru some parts and helped me out. Not the same as playing a game together granted

Dreamfall works great with the 360 pad, better than keyboard and mouse in my opinion.

Same with Fahrenheit. A Joypad with twin analogue sticks is a must. Good game too. Highly recommended.

It was probably a False Positive but just get the Psychonauts demo from Steam. It is such a good game!
