I've had a eee 901 for quite a while now. It's a great netbook in general but the 4GB main OS drive is beginning to drive me mad. Either apps won't install anywhere other than C: (Google Chrome) or they still poo all over the C: even when you install to D: (iTunes).

I'm looking for:

- 9"/10" screen
- HDD-based drive
- 6 cell battery
- 1GB+ RAM
- Atom CPU
- WiFi/Bluetooth
- Windows XP

Do any websites give a good tick-box comparison of netbooks?

I don't think the little 901's or any of the netbook's with small internal SSD's were ever intended for much more that light portable computing

I would recommend You something with a mechanical HD the Samsung NC10 would appear the best (and it is in many regards) but coming from a 901 You would hate the sound and touchpad so It has to be the Asus 1000H-HE

I thought all 901's were 16 gb storage, I just purchased one made by ASUS Eee PC 901 Laptop * 16GB SSD

have Not recieved it yet, I happened to make the purchase on last Thursday evening DOH! , hope to recieve it next few days.
just did a http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ASUS_Eee_PC#Eee_900_Series
lots off specs there.

I dont want the 10 inch version, its the size off 8.9" for portablity I'am after.

The XP 901 is 16GB and the Linux is 20GB.

I was looking for something with very similar specs, and although I didn't find any definite source of info, the various reviews etc led me to get a Samsung NC10. In all comparative tests, this came out as one of, if not the best.

I have had it for 3 weeks now, and it is superb. Performance is fine, if you accept what it is designed to do, and keyboard, screen etc are all good.

Battery life is 5-6 hours of normal usage.
