okay So I had a new heating and hot water meter fitted some months ago.
I have never needed the heating until now.

The radiators do not get hot nor can I hear any water going into them.
There is a good chance some idiot forgot to turn one of the nobs/blue levers on as I know the thermostat is working as I can feel a slight vibration and hear an almost pump like noise coming from the boiler cupboard.

I'm not exactly sure how the heating works as the heating is from a communal boiler AFAIK and only the hot water to my shower is from my own boiler.

Could someone take a quick look at these pic's and see if they can spot something obviously wrong or if they could determine which controls/lever is likely the one that would stop hot water flowing to my radiators ?

I think the pipe on the far right with the honeywell metal box thing is the heating one? it's the one that seems to vibrate slightly anyway :P is the metal box some kind of crappy pump?

Erm... why the hell is that wire stripped to bare metal and is it even safe? I take it that's just an earth wire? but why the hell has someone stripped the shielding from it?

what...the....hell....is....that.....?

I've had two houses and i've never seen anything like that!
you likely never saw one without the cover before?
here's with the cover on ;)

seems backwords to me to have the boiler mounted above the electrics etc though :S
also if you didn't notice the stopcock for the water is right in the far corner behind the boiler pipes and other **** where you can barely see it never mind reach it in an emergency

BTW yes the boiler cupboard is inside my kitchen (who the hell designed that?)

anyway how there is a stopcock to turn the hot water off there must be one to turn the water flow to the radiators off no?
someone in the know must be able to determine which dial or whatever I turn to check

BTW there is a sound like a car reversing when I turn the heating off which makes me even more convinced it's just a valve stopping the flow of water

theres one stopcock that turns the hot water off to the taps/shower lol :P

TBH I have no idea what half the **** behind that cover is I'd imagine it's supposed to be covered in those little security tags so they can tell it has been removed.

but it wasn't even on properly nevermind tagged so thought there was no harm in me seeing if there was a simple fix.

Also, test your stopcocks peoples, I found one today that didn't work properly
anyway I'd love to check my stopcock for the cold water but it's in a retard place you can see it in picture 2 of the original post, in the bottom left side of the photo (far right corner in the cupboard)
you can barely see it never mind reach the damn thing to turn it and it's likely seized anyway.
tbh the whole cupboard should probably have been gutted and redone it looks a right bodge to my untrained eyes

BTW those wires trailing across the floor goto the new meter which is in the most retarded place about as low to the floor as you can get and halfway into the cupboard so you can't even read it without kneeling on the floor and twisting your head to some crazy angle whilst leaning in........

theres a huge bloody wall with hardly anything on it at head height...

haha no all that **** is old since the people who own this place are cheapskate *******
all they did was disconnect the old water/heating meter and left it there.
then added a new one at shoe height halfway inside the cupboard making it almost impossible to read.

been told it has priority 3 and could take 20 days...
the only source of heat is my pc , cooker and radiators...

going to be a cold 20 nights considering this weekends nights are/were only 6 degrees

It was only fitted a few months ago so ring the person who did it and get them to come and explain how to make it go?

I was asking here incase there was a simple valve that someone forgot to open.

I already contacted the people who own this place and I'm expecting a call from there GAS team within 3 days ........

I already told them it was electric dumb *****

btw if anyone cares or if it's any use to anyone who stumbles across this thread in the future.
a valve was blocked up with crud and not letting the water through.
