Hello,

I have made a few decisions about some of the components id like but im struggling to finalise on a few others this is about as far as ive got!

1. CPU - Q6600 Energy Eff
2. Tuniq Tower 120 - This has fan incoprorated in design so i dont need a seperate cpu fan, is that right ?
3. Mobo - Id like to update this section later as ive had one recommended but im currently at work and dont know the model! its 680i sli ready ~£150
4. Ram - Id realy appreciate some suggestions for good value, fast, stable ram.
5. Antec 900 Case
6. BFG 8800gtx oc2 - worth the cash or are their better options around?
7. Hard drive - cheap fast any suggestions please 0.o
8. DVD - again suggestions appreciated greatly for an average-good dvd.
9. PSU - Corsair 620 Hx

As i said this is my first build and im looking to not have to upgrade for atleast the next 2 years and then if i do it should hopefully only be some extra ram or sneaking another GPU in there.(and a psu that can take it ;))

Im hoping to get all this under a grand ^^!

Any help appreciated and thanks in advance! These forums are the most informative and helpful ive come accross, many thanks!

regards Rob.

So as not to leave you hanging welcome :) a couple of quick questions, do you intend to overclock at all or keep it at stock? also are you after a monitor aswell?

As for some of the hardware pretty much any DVD drive around £20 tends to be pretty much top spec at the moment and as for hard drives raptors are quick but (correct me if I'm wrong) tend to be noisy. The Seagate barracudas are fast and I've also heard good things about the Samsung Spinpoint HD501J. Are you looking to run cards in SLI? and i do believe the 8800GT's are some of the best bang for buck gfx cards out there at the moment. On a final note do you need an operating system and whats the main use of your pc? e.g. gaming, photo editing, films ,....

Hope this helps and all goes well

Its gaming id be lieing if i tried to justify it as anything else! :D

Im not going to run dual gfx cards yet im looking to get one excellent gfx card (BFG OC2 or similar) then when a boost is needed in the future ill sneak another one in, however if 2 lower spec cards run well in sli and provide more bang for buck then im completely open to offers!

I have a keyboard, mouse and monitor that are ok for the moment. Im after pure hardware :) Stock or overclock im not too worried im a fast learner but currently have no experience of overclockin! ;) recipe for a major****up :D

Any suggestions appreciated!
cheers Aero
