ok got these all working (long story lol)...
Coolermaster stacker 830 case
Intel Qx 6700
Tuniq Tower 120
Bad axe 2 mobo (BFG 680i dead on arrival - rma`ed)
BFG 8800 GTX OC
Enermax Galaxy 850w PSU
these are the problems :
the side door on the stacker (with all the fans on the side) dont shut because of the Tuniq - (heres me thinking I had a massive case
)
The fan in the top of the case does not fit because the Galaxy is too long !
so had to bend a bit of metal to get PSU in - thus cant use the fan there.
Thing is galaxy has 2 fans - so not sure this is needed ?
There is a CM fan in the 3 in 1 thingy (with annoying blue leds!) - this dont spin very fast - connected to motherboard.
the fan that was in the top of the case Ive moved to the back of the case....
and thats it for cooling.
what can I do to get it cooler - I know these quads are hot but - if I can minimise it some more Ill spend a bit more....
(the BFG 8800 is 79 now while typing this ... and not moving !)
(cpu temps from ITAT is showing 50-54 on both cores while unraring a DVD file to test temps)
is it better to use the Arctic silver on the CPU - or the thermal grease that came with the tuniq ?
TIA
EDIT : is it worth running the front and rear fan from the PSU (via an adaptor) or run them from the motherboard ?
after finishing tasks : ITAT reports cpu temps 46 and 42 ... 8800 still 78
