I've asked on this forum before however i had ago at putting together a build and would really love some insight into whether i'm going the right way :)
So far i have :

Asus P8Z68-V PRO, Intel Z68, S 1155, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), DDR3 2200(OC), SATA 6Gb/s, RAID, ATX, HDMI - £149.62

Intel CPU Core i5 Unlocked 2500K Sandy Bridge Quad Core Processor - £163.40

Gainward GeForce GTX 570 Phantom 1280MB NVIDIA Graphics Card - £287.48 x2 = £574.96

LiteOn IHAS124-19 24x DVD±R, 8x DVD±DL, DVD+RW x8/-RW x6, DVD-RAM x12, SATA, Black, OEM - £15.11

Corsair Enthusiast TX V2 CMPSU-850TXV2UK 850W Power Supply (PSU) - £96.94

Creative SB X-Fi Titanium PCI-E 7.1 Soundcard - £64.43

1TB Samsung HD103SJ Spinpoint F3, SATA 3Gb/s, 7200rpm, 32MB Cache, 8.9ms, NCQ - £39.25 x 2 = 78.5

Corsair Vengeance 6GB (3x2GB) DDR3 PC3-12800C8 1600MHz Triple Channel Kit (CMZ6GX3M3A1600C8) [CMZ6GX3M3A1600C8] - £68.56

Thermalright Silver Arrow CPU Cooler - £47.99

Cooler Master CM-690 II Advanced Dominator Case - Black [RC-692-KKN2] - £71.87

Good or bad?

Do you need the PRO version of the motherboard over the normal one? In case you did not know, the only benefits the PRO has is Firewire.

Only get the soundcard if you are a real sound enthusiast or you really need it. Motherboard onboard sound is ample for most people.

Sandybridge is dual channel, not tripple channel. So you'll have to change the RAM. (You don't have to, but it will run in single channel and so you will not get a very good performance.)

Apart from that, all looks good!

change the ram to this

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MY-290-CS&groupid=701&catid=8&subcat=1517

as that ram is tripple so willrun slower than duel also the cooler you picked will fit
over this ram and wont fit over the Corsair Vengeance

also change your psu to this

http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=CA-007-LA&groupid=701&catid=123&subcat=2057

has really good review and is modular meaning lees cables messing up your case look and airflow

also these gfx cards will cost you a lot less and have really good overclocking reviews so would be able to easly over clock to the same as the Gainward

change mobo to this is just as good as the v pro and is on offer this week
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=MB-051-AK

and with all the cash you saved from the gfx card you could pick up a ssd drive like this one
http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-040-OC&groupid=701&catid=14&subcat=910

and can make use of the smart responce tech on the z68 board will be soo much faster

my 2c :)

8GB dual channel will cost you less than that 6GB set, which is nice.

I would pickup the asrock motherboard as well, although nothing wrong with the asus.

The cheaper MSI 570 as well.

For the PSU, the Lepa is powerful enough.

As for the modular vs non-modular, you will be using pretty much all the cables, apart from some SATA power and molexes. So non-modular not so bad. Also the Antec HCG 900W, the XFX 850W PSUs, Lepa 850W I suppose.

yeah he will be using most but its always nice to have the option to change leads longer shorter ect and when you can get one thats modular for the same price and non modular with no performance loss its a win win :p

and yea theres defo nothing wrong with the asus just asrock does the same for cheaper :)

Asus P8Z68-V, Intel Z68, S 1155, PCI-E 2.0 (x16), DDR3 2200(OC), SATA 6Gb/s, RAID, ATX, HDMI - £129.22

Intel CPU Core i5 Unlocked 2500K Sandy Bridge Quad Core Processor - £164.60

Gainward GeForce GTX 570 Phantom 1280MB NVIDIA Graphics Card - £287.48

Lite On DVD Writer, IHAS124-19, SATA, Black, OEM - £15.11

Samsung 1Tb Spinpoint F3 Hard Drive - HDD - x2 £39.25 = £78.56

Noctua NH-D14 Dual Radiator and Fan Quiet CPU Cooler - £65.39

CMZ4GX3M2A1600C9 - 4GB (2x2GB) Corsair DDR3 Vengeance Jet Black, PC3-12800 (1600), Non-ECC, CAS 9-9-9-24, XMP,

1.50V - x2 £31.39 = £62.78

Corsair Enthusiast TX V2 CMPSU-850TXV2UK 850W Power Supply (PSU) - £96.94

Coolermaster CM 690 II Advanced Black Mid Tower Computer Case - £70.67

Total = £1000.75

That's the build i've planned now. How does it hold up? It allows me to add another 570 in the future if i need it i think

You will not get that ram under the cooler, you will need low profile memory.

If you need 8gb of ram, i would get 2 x 4gb modules (like TwistNut suggested), as i believe this helps with overclocking.

If you have set your heart on Corsair Vengeance ram, maybe this Vengeance low profile set .

Any reason you changed from SA to Noctua?

Also, another vote for a SSD.

I was worried about the ram when picking the Noctua but the Noctua beats the silver light when overclocking at the higher temps.

Is it really worth getting a SSD as i'll only be booting up and shutting down the computer once a day and for the price of one i can get 2 1tb hard drives nearly. I know it'll improve the performance of whatever programs i shove onto it but enough to make it worthwhile?
