I got a GTX 460 and new PSU yesterday, everything was ok I guess until I started to actually do stuff I would keep getting jitter freezes on streams, games so I went to reformat my whole drive and now I'm stuck on expanding windows files...(0%)

I'm using a legit copy of windows 7 and when I try and access my computer (prior the reformat) I kept getting an error message, currently on PS3 trying to get some advice or help would be really greatful.

Hard drive could have died on you. Don't always get a warning that will happen. Got a spare to test with?

If it's extracted by morning you know it's running incredibly slowly and the drive is knackered.

If not.. not sure. googled the code and it's something to do with vista sp2 as far as I looked. :/

It`s also associated with win7 SP1.
Have you reformated your drive prior to doing a new install.
If not, try windows repair. Failing that do a system restore.
Also, what card did you have before the 460.

ive tried to repair and there no recovery dates, the drive shows full space with like 20mb used was a 9600 beforehand

Do you have onboard graphics, if so , disconnect the 460 and try the OS installation.

if it has fried warranty was 2 years pretty sure shame it was a slow drive didn't expect it to die so fast..

Thats because its a 5400rpm, you want a 7200rpm HDD for OS.

Go to western digital site
down load there drive tools (forget the name) there are 2 one for windows and one for dos
use which ever one you can and do a full drive check

5400 rpm is not the problem ur only talking about a few extra seconds

i can't access my computer due to a fault and i can't repair and format and put w7 on it fresh

Well unless u can get in to dos on the pc theres no way to check the drive
