Any FTP client should work fine behind NAT.

As above - I do this to my server.

I use FireFTP and FileZilla - works perfectly fine.

Passive mode should always work fine behind NAT. As there are no incoming connections. Active mode is slightly more demanding that the NAT either has a forwarding rule for port 20 or intelligently inspects port 21 traffic for active mode transfers and creates a temporary port 20 mapping.
