Any hot wheels collectors here ?

I’m not an avid collector but I always have a look through when I see them on sale and pick up any Lotus, Toyota or Minis that I don’t already have

I'm not a collector and haven't bought one in... 25ish years, something like that anyway. I can't walk past their bin things in a supermarket without having a little look though :p

No not a Hot Wheels collector, Scalextric. I collect old retro slot cars of my youth!

I grew up with Corgi and owned a few from this picture, I wish I had kept :(

Always felt this Matchbox set looks epic but - not cheap to get together now!

I have tonnes of hot wheels cars many vintage some boxed plus modern ones from 10 years ago. They are all mixed in with Matchbox and Dinky cars I've been thinking about selling them on ebay but every time I open the boxes and look at them, I start having second thoughts.

forgot i made this post lol new meds have destroyed my memory  any way i only started a month ago and have over 100 cars now i got a few treasure hunts and a super treasure which i sold and has paid for the full collection so far its crazy what some ppl pay :D i only bought a couple i liked as had them when i was a kid but my god does it it get addictive esp when its not a expensive hobby and could easily turn it into a side hussle.

You used to see these a lot in local hairdressers back in the early 90s.

had a big set as a child in the 80`s.

i used them hard so got broken or messed up.

probably have several that survived in my loft along with boxes full of other toys that i kept

I sometimes restore broken ones or make custom cars out of them. I bought different colors of automotive spray paint and primer from the pound shop and clear coat spray drilled out the rivets to get them apart. They clean up pretty good with a bit of paint stripper and the plastic parts like the windshield etc you can rub down with some wire wool then use some plastic polish they look as good as new afterwards.
