My father in law gave me these lenses to sell on for him, but not knowing anything about this stuff I'm a bit stuck. I know they are quite old, so I don't know if they are worth anything or usable. The big zoom lens sounds like it has something rattling around inside it like grit.

hi, i think the main question is what are they worth? i would consider understanding what your father in law would be happy with before selling these. There is a market for these older lens for mirrorless camera users so i think it would sell at an online auction but would it be to a satisfactory amount for your father in-law? - ie does he just want to get rid of them or does he feels these are valuable?

if you are going this route be clear in your description so there is no comebacks for items not as described.

hope this helps

edit - are these manual focus lenses? do they have a lot of numbers on the side?

I think he's just looking to sell them on, he didn't say he was looking for a particular price. They do have a lot of numbers on the side. I'm guessing the gritty noise in the zoom lens it's good?

These look like Pentax mount lenses, am I right?

The 28mm is a fairly good lens, and yours looks like the metal-bodied version. The 50mm isn't a standout amongst some of the other manual 50s you can find. You'll probably get around £20-£30 for each on eBay if the optics are clean.

Not sure about the zoom, but given it's a slow aperture I wouldn't expect it to be hugely sought after... might be wrong though!

Thanks guys. What I'm going to struggle with is how to describe these lenses in an ad, as I have no idea what import information to include.
