Any idea what this is?

I bought a U2713HM recently and today I've noticed a small area on the monitor which is brighter than the rest of the pixels around it. It doesn't stay the same colour and picks up whatever colour is on this part of the screen... tried to capture it in an image but obviously quite difficult to get.

Give it a bit of gentle tapping, I've read that can fix dodgy pixels. Not too sure what the policy is on dodgy pixels but I'm sure it has to be more than 1 in a specific area?

It's Dell so zero defects

Will give it a go when I get it. Tried rubbing it through a cloth but didn't do anything so tapping next!

Didn't do anything so will give them a call.

They specifically mention 'bright pixels' in their guarantee so expecting just a straight swap.

i've got them on my samsung TV pain in the bum happened after a year as well!
if Dell will replace then thats good, you could try massaging them out or something but i never found anything like that actually works

Rang them up today and they're sending me a brand new one from the warehouse in the next 5 days. Apparently the next business day only applies 1 month after purchase onwards.
