hi just ordered some new parts...mobo, cpu, ram and gfx card....wondering what speeds i could possible get???

Intel Core 2 Quad Pro Q6600 "Energy Efficient 95W Edition" 2.40GHz (1066FSB)
Abit IP35 (Socket 775) PCI-Express DDR2
GeIL 2GB (2x1GB) PC8500C5 1066MHz Black Dragon DDR2 Dual Channel Kit
Sapphire ATI Radeon HD 2900 Pro SILENT Heatpipe 512MB GDDR3 VIVO TV-Out/Dual DVI

with this air cooling.....
Noctua NH-U12F CPU Cooler (Socket 754/939/940/AM2/LGA775)

That's an excellent setup and you should have no trouble reaching at least 3.4ghz...


more like 3.6ghz
 
No overclock is guaranteed. My Q6600 G0 will not budge past 3.2ghz no matter what i try. It does'nt seem to like voltage as it will not boot past 1.375v on the vcore. It is also not a problem with the memory, motherboard or cooling as my E4300 went up to 3.4ghz.
 
Excellent buy ReV0h. Both CPU and graphics card should overclock well.

I have the Geil memory myself and mine can get up to 900mhz while still running at Cas4.
 
kewl.....it should be arriving tomorrow......so i'm well looking forward to seeing what it can do...

i currently have amd 64 FX-60, asus a8n32-sli, 2 gig g.skill 3200 and a 7800gtx XXX edition.......oh my god....this setup does not work!

i have tried everything....i even let my cousin loose but we could not get the cpu above 2.7 stable.......:(

Thats a very nice clock Andy. Personally I am hanging on for Penrhyn and am hoping to squeeze a lot/little more out of it. Is this also what you got out of Antony's rig :D
 
Ah! I thought so! as you use a different rig at home Antony as in your mate aka the Don :D
 
I just clked in here there's probably more than one Andy at Overclockers (tech )etc and I'm probably talking to the wrong one Lol. Sorry if this is the case.
