PC spec as below, running Win XP SP2.

I'm getting occasional crashes with my PC, symptoms of which described below.

Usually starts with the mouse cursor sticking or "jittering" across the desktop or application. If I'm running a game with sound, the sound (and graphics) will momentarily stick or freeze. Eventually if I don't close down the programmes and reboot or shut down, the PC does a BSOD (haven't got the error message unfortunately).

Have noticed it tends to occur after using IE7 though not necessarily exclusively so.

All mobo drivers, graphics drivers etc. up to date. Don't think it's a GFX card issue as it did it when I had my old 7600 card in the box and still does it with the 8800 installed.

You need to stress the system & measure temps.
You also need to run Ad Aware.

Come back once you have run Ad Aware & have your temps.
You also need to tell us what Mouse you are using, Wired or Wireless ?
Also how long have you had XP installed ?
Also what Progs have you downloaded/Installed recently ?
Also is it at stock or Overclocked ?
Who built it ? How long has it been doing it & when did it last run sweet ?

I'll work on that but I think cooling might well be the issue (having just spotted a couple of similar queries on Toms site) - idle temps are around 50C and a quick 100% run up with TAT put temps around 70C.

I don't think the Akasa is quite man enough for the job. I've just reseated it with some fresh AS7 but temps still coming back around the same. I've ordered myself an Arctic Cooling Freezer 7 Pro which will hopefully make a difference.

The system was built by myself about 15 months ago no reformat or reinstall of Windows since, the problem has been intermittent pretty much on and off for a year or so. CPU only running at stock.
