Up until sometime last week I could attach files to yahoo emails when composing them. Suddenly I can't. Unable to attach any file type. Once the file has been selected by me, yahoo tries to attach it but will eventually time out with an error message just saying it was unable to attach the file.

Size of attachments usually very small, around 100KB. File types such as .doc or .xls. These used to attach OK.
First noticed the problem using my desktop PC. I have tried IE9, Firefox and Chrome. Emptied temp internet files, ran virus checks and malware checks Result is still a fail to attach.

So I tried using a different computer. my wifes laptop. I logged in to my Yahoo mail account on the laptop. Got the same error.

Then logged in to my wifes Yahoo email account on the same laptop. Files attached and sent fine. No problem. This, I suspect, points to a setting within my Yahoo account. But I can't fathom out what it is. My wifes Yahoo account and mine look to be set up the same.

Any ideas, please, folks?

For the benefit of anyone else in a similar situation:

Well, after installing Microsoft update kb2603229 last night, I find that this morning I can now add attachments. This does not fully explain the cause of the error. Nor can I say there is a link between the update and the fix, but, well, I'm just glad it's working.

How strange...

I did notice your post and even though I have a couple of Yahoo accounts I access them through WLM desktop edition and thus do not use the web interface. However I did try it out and it works fine. I use Firefox as my browser.
I do not have that update installed.
