Hey all, to cut a long story short, recently come into some pennies so was going to build a new pair of identical systems (one for me, one for my brother) so was wondering if you ppl have any thoughts on this spec, and anything you would change. im looking at around £2000 mark max

main use is gaming and video encoding.

thanks for your time peeps :)

Do you already have the PSU's for them as i cant see them on your spec

How much video encoding are you going to be doing? if its only now an again.....Just a idea you could get a i5 overclock it & with the money you save you could get a 40GB ssd.....Just an idea but if you dont think you would benefit from a ssd just ignore me lol

yeah already got psu's (he's got a 650w corsair and iv got a 750 thermaltake) monitors ect so its really just the parts on the list. i considered an i5 but was a little worried about the future lifespan of the socket type, with the lowest priced i5 coming in at £154.99 and the i7 at £167.99.there's not a whole lot of difference (£13)

With the video encoding i do a fair bit of it but tend to do more gaming than anything else, same goes with my bro. was tempted to go with the new six core amd's but im unsure with that one.

Im not sure of the future lifespan of the i5's socket....but its not just the cost of the CPU, yeah £13 difference but it RAM & the motherboard's are cheaper...The cost of the i7 CPU, RAM n board is £439 & the i5 CPU, ram, board n SSD £444....As i say it was just a idea.....but if you are not OC prob best to stick with the i7

As for the AMD's the six cores are great for the encoding etc but not for games as much the Phonem 955 would run a bit better for games
