i'm upgrading the RAM on my old laptop, and i'm not sure what type or brand it is. anybody know what what it is?
also, i am new to PC building so i have no idea how to change ram cards from one type to another

My laptop specs are as followed

- Fujistu Siemens Amilo pro laptop (amazon link http://www.amazon.co.uk/Fujitsu-Siemens-Notebook-Celeron-Widescreen/dp/B000O88V7W)
-intel celeron M CPU 1.6 GHZ ram
-1.7 Gig of ram

i will upload an image shortly, which will include dimensions. :) :)

Thnx!!!

The laptop has 2x RAM slots available.

Buy this for around £20 install in the spare slot and then you will have 1.5gb

1GB 200-pin SODIMM
Module Size: 1GB
Package: 200-pin SODIMM
Feature: DDR2 PC2-5300

Or you could take out the 512MB that is pre-installed and get 2x 1gb sticks for around £40.

Not sure if I can post a link to another forum showing how to replace the RAM

Google it;

"topic amilo pro v3515 ram replacement"

It must be a 2x1GB and 300meg is taken by the integrated graphics.

It looks like that system is using the maximum amount of RAM it can, so unfortunately there is not much upgrading you can do with it.

If you do want to get a performance boost, then adding an SSD will give you a big boost in some areas. Also an SSD can be reused in future computers when you decide to retire this laptop. This one is a good deal.
