I have a strange issue and I've come to the point where I don't know what to try next, I feel like I've tried everything I can but there's got to be a solution to this problem.

The problem is I get no video from my GPU in the PCI-E x16 slot.

Spec is:

Gigabyte Z68AP-D3 Rev 2 motherboard
i5 2500k
8gb Gskill Ripjaws 1600mhz or 8gb Geil Black Dragon
Sapphire HD 7850 1GB
OCZ 700w PSU
OCZ Agility 3 SSD 120gb.

All other drives etc not connected.

The Rev 2 is replacing a Rev 1 version of the same motherboard which works perfectly with all the rest of the above kit.

This is the second Rev 2 I've had (swapped it yesterday in the shop), both have the same issue.

Tried 3 different BIOS' on the 2 boards to try and eliminate the issue. Onboard video was fine on both boards and the GPU works fine in the x4 slot but still nothing in the x16 slot.

Tried altering as many options in the BIOS as I can think of like completely disabling the onboard video and selecting PCI-E as first display etc.

Cleared CMOS, removed CMOS battery and left unplugged over night (things suggested on the interwebs).

The first Rev 2 board I even assembled it out of the case to make sure nothing was shorting. I have also bought a new case from OcUK and built the second board in that.

I'm really at a loss and unless I'm missing something obvious it must be faulty, surely? Though I find it hard to believe that 2 boards in a row have the same fault?

Help! :D

Yeah, it didn't read very well, sorry. Edited it now.

I'm thinking its a fault too, but 2 boards with the same fault? I know its not impossible but I do want to make sure I'm not missing something.

Have you tried with another Psu or different PCIE connectors?

I don't have another PSU, but as it works flawlessly in the Rev 1 version of the same board, it can't be that?

What do you mean by different PCIE connectors?

Just read your edited OP, thought maybe it could be down to a faulty PCIE connector, but that does`nt seem to be the case.
