Are there any issues (power etc) with buying a Graphics card for my PC from a US based on-line store, if I can get it cheaper (including shipping) than the UK stores?

Yes, getting your hat nailed on by customs when it lands in UK.

Everything from the USA is declared, so don't expect to get away with it.
You will pay VAT and a handling charge.

China on the other hand....

Remove competitor name.

Also I would be interested seeing how you would deal with the warranty...
Unless EU RMA would take a US item?

Its not worth it in the slightest, firstly because you will get hit with UK VAT,as if theres any issues with it then you have to send back to the USA. In th eend th eprice will be the same or only fractionally lower.

Common sense methinks.

I once bought an R/C helicopter from America and it was delivered in two days so even after express shipping and import charges the money saved paid for its engine, about £120 i think the saving was.

The price might seem great, until you pay the tax for it coming overseas...I sent RAM to the US and got charged for it on the way back, as it was replacement and not what I had sent.

Don't be tight, buy from Overclockers deals.. :D

Bought an OCZ 8800GTX from USA around 6 year ago, but only because I knew OCZ would warranty it in Europe, I got stung for import duty and charges for delivery from the airport to my house via parcel force.

Wasn't really worth the hassle, I woudn't bother again.

Im sure the warrenty on most cards is universal and don't bother trying to hint about ways round tax due.
I have bought loads of stuff from america and will continue to do so.
