Looking at starting up soon and wondered what the main bulk of your work is? where you work from van/workshop, I did want to do wall paneling mainly but a look through right move doesn't show it to be particularly popular in the area.

I'd have thought things like alcove cabinets/fitted wardrobes would be the main things you'd be asked to do. Though i genuinely have no idea what the bulk of work is for joiners, and unless you're very skilled to make very ornate things i'd have thought making furniture for a competitive price would be difficult.

Only thing i've asked a cabinet maker to make for me was some speaker cabinets, but that was a while back now.

Furniture and cabinets are more the cabinet-maker's trade. Joiners tend towards more doors, staircases, windows and fitted cabinetry.
However, there is often a lot of crossover between them and can include carpentry stuff like timber framing too. All depends what the individual joiner can do.

When we built our house the joiner did the usual stuff like fitting the doors, making some built in cupboards in the bedrooms and fitting the stairs but he also made a bespoke oak porch and framing for the front door and glazing around it.
