Hey,

Does anyone have any suggestions for a nice keyboard? Max of around £30.

It's used 8-12 hours a day for programming so it needs to be comfortable to type on, have all the punctuation keys (;~[]()+-#{}*&"') in their "regular places" and preferably be quite quiet while typing - the constant clack clack clack day after day is slowly driving me crazy.

Oh also not too big - I was looking at the Logitech G11 but it looks huge.

Lot's of requirements for a keyboard, any ideas? :p

Thanks!

the logictech comfort curvey boards are nice. i know you might think they'd be really wierd to type on and so did i, but i tryed one on saturday and there actually really nice.

Another plug for Logitech here. I use the G15 gaming keyboard, nicest key action I've ever encountered. It's expensive, but it does light up. The keys do not have a definite click to them but will still make a noise if you're typing quickly :)

I've recently been trying to find a new keyboard but after wasting a lot of time and money trying different styles, including all the popular ones, i just keep going back to the BTC 6300c Slimline. It is a joy to use, the button press is fantastic. it doesn't have fancy lights, gimmiky screens or macros, its just plain old great keyboard.

I like the G15 as well. I find the macro keys great for dropping in frequently used chunks of code. Then again, I'm just a web developer so a lot of code is frequently reused.

Another vote for the Logitech UltraX.

they're about 15 quid (well, used to be) and worth at least triple that. they're so fantastic to type on.

Thanks for the suggestions everyone! Both the "BTC Ultra-Slim 6300" & "Logitech UltraX" certainly looks suitable, I can't seem to find anywhere selling them though :(!

yep, thats a good choice. oh, i hope you know that its got Flat-style keys (like a laptop) which are very high quality. same actual board as the DiNovo apparently.

Hope you like the keyboard.

FWIW from the link of the BTC 'review', looks like both the BTC and the logitech ultrax are pretty much identical apart from the hot keys.
