Any L631A E6600 owners here?

Built a rig for one of my mates, he dosen't want it o'ced but out of curiosity i tried a bit, can't seem to get even 3.2Ghz without a massive vcore jump to 1.525v! currently running orthos at 7+ hours, 3Ghz needs 1.475v and fastest clock i can get on stock is 2.7Ghz. Absolutely rubbish compared to the L629Bs i've got! Anyone else got this stepping? Getting another Wednesday for another build that will be o'ced, hope its not the same batch lol.

Ouch, not nice. That's got to be one of the worst around!

I want a CPU with a higher multi (have an E6300 now) but fear I'd be trading in my L629B for something that'll most likely be a lot worse

Keep it man, get a good board and RAM those are good uns, both mine do 3.4Ghz on 1.3v in BIOS, they're E6600 though.

I've been up to 3.36GHz, 480FSB so far with 1.3V. Need better cooling on the northbridge and I might be able to progress.

First item on the agenda is to get my 7300GT DDR2 replaced, then money allowing I'll grab some memory that can do 1066mhz and a motherboard that's good for that kind of FSB 1:1, and plump for a 100% overclock

But like I said, lets get the 7300GT replaced. Terribly unbalanced system at the moment
