Any Labrador owners here?

Went to see Charlie today, he is 7 weeks old now. 2 more weeks before we will be bringing him home, i just want to fast forward.

ARRGGHHH! *thinks back to when our Lucy was a pup* NEEDLE TEETH! In for some serious pain there :D

my cocker spaniel pup is twelve weeks today, gonna get her final jabs, shes proving a handful but her training is amazing shes got the hang of loads already, cant wait until shes old enough to go on walks will post pics soon

My better half and 2 children are mithering to get a puppy. My wife has told me about some labrador pups currently for sale through a lady at her work place and is trying to convince me.

Does anyone here have a labrador? If so, can you tell me of your experience in bringing it up, are they hard work etc?

How apt that this thread appears today.

I come home last night to find the missus has bought a 12 week old black labrador puppy home.

Not only do i not like labradors, black or other wise not only do i not like large dogs full stop, this particular one is a complete pain in the arse.

What a lovely surprise.
Not.

*Update*
Successful and mature debating on my part ("get it out of the house by the end of the day or i will be taking it to be destroyed tommorow") has resulted in the wife capitulating and taking it back to where she got it from when she gets back from work.

Have not been on here for a while because Charlie is taking up so much of my time lol. I am loving having him though. I've just taken this picture of him which i think is the best one i've taken so far, i hope you like it? He was 11 weeks old yesterday.

congrats on the puppy, my parents used to have a golden lab when I was a young lad, they are great dogs :)

They do take up so much of your time it's unreal, I used to play WoW most nights and used to raid, but since we got Archie last November I've not been on a single one :p

I havnt seen my dogs for nearly a year now, miss them so much but i get to see them when i go home in june!

They are soooo part of the family, i think we are a bit to nice to them :P

Lmao, i'm sure you'll learn to love him/her. How could you not when it will always be so pleased to see you? I bet you'll be giving cuddles in no time.:)

You gotta post some pics btw!

This thread is WIN!

I love dogs, especially labs or varients. Golden Retrievers are my favorate tho. Had a couple in the past, but unfirtunatly not got the time to look after one now. When I have a house of my own I will get one (or 2) of my own!

Love labs. The folks have finally got round to getting another cocker after penny died about 18months back. She's got a really glossy black coat but white toes :D

Can't wait to see her, they're picking her up part way through May, so as soon as my exams finish I'm off home :p

We have just bought a chocolate lab puppy. She is only around 3-4 weeks old at the moment, so it will be several more weeks before we can bring her home from the breeders.

We are going to visit her again, in about a weeks time, and hopefully I will get some pics to post.

We already have a black lab. "Dylan" is around 11 years old now. Here is a pic of him:

I would recommend labradors to anyone buying a puppy, the ones we have owned had/have fantastic temperament without a bad bone in their body.

On a sadder note, I feel for all you guys and gals that have lost a pet recently. We lost this beautiful guy ("Rio") in early January this year:(

Rio looks awesome mate, must have been a lovely companion...a brother of my Max was called Rio actually if i remember rightly. Heres another of Max, with our psychotic kitten Tia...

...makes me laugh in the mornings, i'll get out of bed at about 6:30 or so, the dog gets on the bed then the kitten insists on climbing ON the dog and pathering about on his back...daft hound doesn't even move...
:D

Can't wait until your missus gets pregnant without consulting you first...
