Couple of quick questions for anyone who's got the time...

- I have a P5Q Deluxe board running a GTX 470, which natively does not support SLI. Does this mean it wouldn't support a seperate PhysX card aswell?

- Are there any lads running seperate PhysX cards, and do you see the benefits?

It does not have to support Sli to use a seperate Physix card (Edit: I Think).

As long as you have 2 x pci-e slots it will work. You just go into Nvidia settings and dedicate the second card to Physx.

I had a pair of 480 Sli'd (now 580's) and a 280GTX as Physx.

For the games that need Physx - Batman AA and AC, Mafia 2 etc, it really makes a difference to FPS. All other games it just sits there unused.

Got to say that I wouldn't be with out my Physx card.

physx isn't worth spending extra money on, but if you have a physx card, then you may aswell use it

I have a 470 and i briefly stuck a seperate 9800GTX in for physx. Tbh i didnt notice much of a difference in game and benchies withe the 9800GTX doing the physx.

Saw a GTX260 in a shop yesterday, just wondered if it would make much of a difference.

On Mafia 2 I noticed a significant performance hit with PhysX switched on.

Quite looking forward to Batman AC when it eventually comes out, might see if I can borrow a card from someone local to test it.

On Batman Archam Asylum, in the game benchmark, if you run the benchmark with the Physx enabled but use just 1 GPU and let that do graphics and Physx there is a massive difference when you add a dedecated GPU for Physx.

Mafia 2 does benefit, but not by as much.

Will add some screenshots when I get home.

Benchmarks like 3DMARK dont benefit from a second Physx card that I can see.
