Anything in that price range which is similar spec and size, weight?

Otherwise I will have to get the mac.

Dell XPS 1330 is very similar.

The Vostro 1400 is probably worth a mention. It's not quite as small as the MacBook, but it is a better overall spec, and it's a hell of a lot cheaper (hardly surprising).
