Buy a headscarf it will keep your head nice and cool, it can get really hot out there. Oh and drink plenty of water, don't forget to barter with the locals when buying from the markets.

He he, our hotel is in the middle of nowhere, on the coast, so theres only 1 shop within a few dozen miles, and thats right next door to the hotel :D

I might be tempted to get a headscarf as im REALLY fair haired/skinned, unless that was some sorta joke so when i show you the pics you can all shout "Send him back!!"

Oh and i got a loada Factor 50 :D

Go in, look at the stuff, and get the **** out of there as soon as possible.

Arse end of the world mate.

:edit: If you're on the north coast then ignore my statement, it is totally rad, you'll have a blast. Don't drink their water, ever.

You planning on staying in resort or heading out and about?

Staying in resort, only going for a week so might as well just laze around and do some swimming :D

Its like 50 miles or something to the nearest town, something like that :\

O RLY?

Were nowhere near Cairo, its like 6-7 hours away by car!

Infact its about 20 miles off the isreal border :s

Heck, its probably safer than Londo tbh

Couldn't agree more, Pyramids aside it's nothing but a crap, medieval Country that smells wrong. Thankfully though I'm not allowed back in anymore.

Cairo? Hell no.

We were in the market on our last day (it's not a big market, must be 100 metres * 100 metres max) and when we got on the plane 2 hours later there was news that it had been bombed :p

Sounds like you're in an ok place though, just don't trust anyone 100% and you will be fine.

You mooned the Sphynx too huh? :D

:edit: Just looked at the map, there'll probably be a lot of history regarding the war with Israel. Look forward to seeing abandoned tanks etc :D

If your only going for the beach surely you could have got somewhere a lot cheaper and closer?

Basically you will need loads of small notes one Egyptian pound usually for tipping. Its only ten pence to us but spread a few of them around the staff and they wont be able to do enough for you.

Also make sure you have a pen to fill in your visa on the plane if you havnt done it already.

Take something so you can measure the temperature over there. Nobody will tell you how hot it is this time of year as it might scare you off so if you want to know take something with you.

Shame on you for not doing some temples and pyramids!

No, I've got an Israeli stamp in my passport now and apparently the Egyptians don't like that. Wish I had mooned the Sphinx though, perhaps it'd alleviated the tension from when I asked one of the guides "So, what time do the Goa'uld land?" :p
