Any Lefties?

I'm basically left handed, right armed and left footed, right legged. I believe it's called cross-dominance and it's not an advantage in any way :p

Interestingly, in my A-level electronics, out of 10 people 6 were lefties (counting myself as one iirc). Much higher than the general average.

I used to be left handed when I was a child and my parents didn't like this so they tied up my left hand until I could use my right hand.

Do you think this is cruel and would you do this to your child?

They forced me to use my right hand to write in school.

I have poor handwriting :(

I am also now left footed and right handed (i know that can be possible anyhow)

I don't remember them being cruel to me!

I'm a bit mixed up.

Lefty for writing and (annoyingly) playing guitar. That's it. Righty for everything else. Can't throw with my left hand, can't kick with left foot, naturally play pool/snooker righty etc..etc.

I was forced to use my right hand infant school for a year or two. It didn't work, so they let me get on with being left-handed.

I do find I have less than average manual dexterity - is this a left-handed characteristic?

Sounds like a lot of you are cross-dominance in fact, posts saying you write and throw with opposite sides suggests you would be.

For me, I write left handed, but that's about all. I throw, bowl, serve etc right 'armed' (it's a bigger movement so I tend to picture it as a division between hand and arm). I'd kick with my right 'leg', but use my left foot on the bass beater pedal on a drum kit, again implying that division between foot and leg movements.

I am left eyed, as in I would close my right eye and aim with my left.

Left handed to write
right handed to draw sometimes
right footed
Right handed to punch/arm wrestle/sports

Cant use scissors or can openers. basically screwed!

I'm right eyed, but I play pool left handed, so I think that gives me a disadvantage, the balls always seem to go slightly to one side of where I expect. Don't know if it's true of if I'm just really bad at it though!

Im left handed and im glad my son turned out to be right handed.

I used to hate loosing arm wrestles at school due to being a lefty :(
And finding a good LH guitar is ecpensive compared to a right

This was very common among catholic boy schools years ago, my father went to the Christian brothers secondary school and the priests would tie his left hand to his leg with a belt. Being a lefty was a sign of the devil supposedly. Mental people lol.

His hand writing is severity retarded due to this.

I'm Lefty and wouldn't have it any other way.

Yeah it's a right handed world but lefties can always adapt and prosper.

I'm pretty sure that we make up for any clumsiness with enhanced mental ability too, at least in a creative sense.
