Hello,

I'm attempting to use an Imac without a mouse to do very basic things and I'm tearing my hair out!!! All I want to do is use the keyboard to open up the internet options in IE5:mac . Thats All. I selected the icon on the desktop and hit command-o to open it (because hitting 'enter' is too easy, apparently!) Now, on most PC's simply pressing 'alt' will let me navigate menu's using keyboard. But not mac. Help.

its not mine, someone has asked me to help with their internet connection but gave me the unit without the mouse and I don't have a USB mouse. Tried all the keys I can think of, is there some sort of combo? Also is there a way to turn on the num pad to use as a mouse?

Try hitting the option key five times quickly in succession (or it may be shift) - it should turn on mouse keys - use the numerical numberpad to move the cursor about.

Ummn, I haven't used OS 9 for years now

I don't actually think there is a command for it

I certainly don't remember one and I've used all systems from 7.6.1 to 9.2.2 and 10.0 to 10.4.9 :p

In OSX. OS9 is a horrible ancient beast and one of the reasons Apple nearly died in the 90s.

OS9's alright! It was ugly and old fashioned, but worked very well. It was great to work on, no clutter, no fuss, no faffing, just straightforward and functional.

Almost unforgivably ugly though.
